Julia`s burlesque is an exercise in precision, cultural awareness, and controlled seduction, drawing from classical traditions such as Vaudeville and early 20th-century performances. Julia`s performances are informed by iconic techniques including glove peels, stocking rolls, boa work, shimmy, tassel twirling, and the art of the slow reveal. She approaches each of these elements with precision, understanding not only their aesthetic impact but their historical and dramaturgical function within burlesque.
Her artistic references span from the golden age of burlesque to contemporary neo-burlesque, incorporating influences from cabaret, revue, and theatrical striptease. At the same time, Julia brings a distinct cultural signature to her work: a vibrant infusion of Brazilianness, tropical, rhythmic, and sensorial, interwoven with Latin expressiveness and her French heritage.
